I’m at someone’s house I’m trying to finish a sewing project in the backyard but the thread kept getting tangled and breaking. I was finally able to get the thread on a bobbin but it turned out to be too short. Then the scene changed and now it was about to start raining so I had to go inside. There was something going on outside either a loud party or some conflict I can’t remember exactly. But I was inside a house again. There was a girl. She had built a fort inside the house but she said she didn’t realize she had, and that she was just playing. I had to use the toilet but I couldn’t because I walked away and then back. And someone had pee all over it was gross. I went back to the fort this girl had built and there was a baby. The baby was cute but I wouldn’t stop crying. I asked the girl if she knew what was going on she say she didn’t I tried to help the baby fall asleep but he wouldn’t, then I think I realized the baby was hungry I asked her about it she said nothing. Then suddenly there was snot in my hand it was from the baby, that’s when I realize that was the reason the baby was crying. I begged her to please let me take the baby to a doctor. She said she couldn’t afford it because she didn’t have a job. I told her I had really good health benefits. I could say it was my baby she said that wouldn’t work. I was so worried about this baby being sick, I asked her to pass me something to clean the boogers but she wouldn’t understand. Finally I was able to clean it. Then the scene changed again and now I was back to a place I used to go for help and food like a shelter kind of situation when I was addicted to drugs. But this time I wasn’t there as a patient I was there as a social worker, it was my first day and my job was to help people with adoptions. I remember a couple arrived and I gave them my pitch which was really bad. Then they said they were interested but I didn’t know what to do. So I went talked to the security guard he gave me a key card and I went to try to find someone to help but every door I opened was wrong so I asked them to wait for me in there while I went inside. Inside the place looked different from I could remember like it had been remodeled. Then I opened a door to like a hallway but it was like the ciudad amurallada in Cartagena and that’s when I woke up.
Dreams are deeply personal experiences, and their meanings can vary significantly based on context, emotions, and experiences in your waking life. However, I can provide some insights into potential themes and symbols in your dream.
Sewing Project: The act of sewing often symbolizes the desire to create or mend something in your life. The tangled thread could indicate feelings of frustration or complications in a project you’re working on or issues in a relationship. The bobbin being too short might suggest feelings of inadequacy or that you don’t have enough resources to complete something important.
Rain: Rain in dreams can symbolize cleansing or emotional release. Having to go inside as it starts to rain may reflect a need to withdraw from an external situation or conflict, perhaps it indicates a desire to seek comfort or safety away from chaotic environments.
The Fort and the Baby: The girl building a fort symbolizes creativity, innocence, or protection. You may be navigating a situation where you feel responsible for someone or something vulnerable (like the baby). The crying baby could represent unresolved emotions or needs, perhaps your own or someone else’s, that you feel unprepared to handle. The struggle to help the baby and the realization of its basic needs might indicate your awareness of the importance of caring for others.
Health Concerns: Your concern for the baby’s health may reflect your worries about vulnerability—yours or someone else's—and your capability to care for those in need. It may also signify feelings of inadequacy or fears regarding your ability to provide support or assistance in challenging situations.
Returning to the Shelter: The transition back to a place representative of past struggles suggests self-reflection and growth. Now being a social worker indicates a shift in perspective as you take on a role of helping others rather than being the one in need. This transition could signify personal growth and finding purpose in helping others.
Remodeled Space: The changed surroundings of the shelter might symbolize your evolving perspective on past experiences. It suggests that while the memories or past may still affect you, you are now in a different place in your personal journey.
Callejón and Feeling Lost: The Ciudad Amurallada reference could hint at feelings of being trapped or lost in complex situations, but also emphasizes cultural connections and beauty amidst confusion. It could suggest you are navigating your personal history, reconciling feelings of past addiction with a new role in helping others.
Overall, your dream seems to revolve around themes of responsibility, care, past struggles, and personal growth. You may be processing feelings about your ability to nurture and support others while confronting your own past challenges. Reflecting on these themes may provide further clarity on how they relate to your waking life.
